How do brake pipe clips fit?

Recommended Posts

artois7

As per the title - I've snapped a few brake pipe clips, Some just the jaws, one sheered clean off and just left a metal stud sticking out of the body.

What's the correct way to remove pipes from these, and how are they replaced / fitting to the body?

Cheers

Dan, to be clear is it the sliding clip the secures the flexi hose to the bracket that has snapped as opposed to the mount bracket that is welded to the car body?

Sorry, I could have been clearer then. I mean the plastic clips that the pipes locate into along the body.

They are 25 odd years old and brittle, you won't have much luck successfully re using them. Buy new from Peugeot.

Yes indeed - I just wanted to understand how they are attached. I snapped one clean off and just have a stud poking out where it was - Are they push fit? so If I snap all of them off, I can easily replace them?

if they are fitted you push the pin through in the middle then they will just pull out.
