GTI6 clearance

Hi Guys,

 

how much clearnce do you have between bulkhead and GTI6 out manifold on GTI6 engine.  

 

I am struggeling as my manifold has only a few milimeters clearance. It will not work even with very little engine movemment.

You can either reangle manifold, cut bulkhead or extend lower mount.

 

Personally id approach in that order. Lower mount extension is a bodge.

The manifold has been velded/reangled. I have tried to tilt the engine to create more space. Actually i have made the lower fork Mount shorter(drilled an extra hole). 

Funny thing is that the manifold was ok with the old iron 2.0 iron mi16.

What manifold is it as the gti6 manifold doesn’t fit the 2.0 mi16?

 

shortening the lower mount would normally make matters worse, sounds like you need to alter the manifold angle more

Good point! The GTi6 and 2L Mi16 manifolds are worlds apart!

Same manifold changed the mounting plate to fit the different bolt pattern. 

 

Re re-angeling time I guess.
