Bright zinc plate was a very common finish on cars its just not that durable and is usually long gone after a few years but when you take bits of the bit that wasn't exposed to the elements underneath still has some gold on it , the sump bolts were gold as the little spacers on mine being covered in oil from leaks  still have some gold on them. I also bought red leads as i think they look great although they get dirty very quick , doubt the springs were red either just used that to make them stand out in the pic.

I was going to crop the bottom part of the image prior to posting but the ignition amp graphic was so good I changed my mind.
