Need A New Aluminium Vin-Number Plate

Recommended Posts

MrAndy

Hello,

For some reason, my car is missing the aluminium VIN-number plate in the engine room.

It's not officially needed in my location to be OK'ed in the inspection, but it disturbs me that it's missing.

Can you give me hints where to ask to get a new one??

Think i'd be more inclined to get an engraver to try make something similar; engraved rather than raised/pressed.

I made my own got a bit of aluminium cut to shape marked a level flat line that I could rub away borrowed a engraver a few gentle taps later and pop rivets in the usual place and looks a treat. Cost me zero pennies.

About the only thing mind you.

The engraving sounds a good idea also.

Local Pug-dealer said no can do.

I still think the 145USD is a robbery. In my mind about 30Eur would be ok price.

What self respecting buyer is going to recognise a dodgy VIN plate? In my mind, the car is worth less without the original.
