Gaz205 50 Posted June 4, 2017 I can find plenty of threads on water leaks... Not many on wind noise. After a respray, my car has quite loud wind noise. Pin pointing it to the doors rather than the screen as this seems louder. Are the main seals preventing wind noise the actually rubber door seal or the rubber that runs along the roof edge down to the wing? I have ph1 mirrors on ph2 doors which took some adjustment, are these likely culprits based on exprerience? I'm keen to start taping up here n there and spraying water but just wondered if there are any 'common' adjustment to make or likely culprits to aim at first before adjusting doors and pulling and peeling seals again Thanks in advance
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted June 4, 2017 I find I get some wind noise on my passengers side door mirror. Not rectified it yet. Sounds a good idea to tape where it fits to the door and see if this stops it
Gaz205 50 Posted June 4, 2017 I didn't know the mirrors mount differently so may have to upgrade my mirrors. Magic tape for now, thanks for that

pugdamo 111 2 Cars Posted June 4, 2017 I get a little wind noise from the tops of the doors at around 70mph ish, if i put my fingers on the seal of the glass at the top and pull the door in slightly it stops, it's never bothered me enough to fix it though, maybe yours is the same place? steve@cornwall 100 Posted June 4, 2017 Do you have electric windows? I find that when mine go fully closed they deform the tops of the doors somewhat.try just dropping the window a gnats
pugdamo 111 2 Cars Posted June 4, 2017 I didn't originally but I do now ????. The noise for me was there with and without posh windows.
Tom Fenton 1,525 Posted June 4, 2017 Lower window glass. Open door brace the bottom of the frame with your knee and give the top a gentle tug inwards. Obviously go steady!! But this should pull the door in tight to the rubber and stop the noise.

Especially as I had to beg to buy the replacement doors to put on the old girl. However, I'll give it a go after I've re applied adhesive to the strips on the door frame if that fails, which I think it will as the top is pretty saggy

steve@cornwall 100 Posted June 5, 2017 You could also try adjusting the latch striker to pull the door in.
Gaz205 50 Posted June 5, 2017 You could also try adjusting the latch striker to pull the door in.Done that one and it's perfectly in line with the rear quarter. Nipped it a little past but anymore makes it look a bit silly. I'm gonna give toms idea a go when I next go in the garage if the rain ever stops!
