ALEX 98 1 Cars Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/peugeot-205-1-9gti-/252826876449?hash=item3adda7fa21:g:iokAAOSwuxFY09bc Didn't seem too long ago that these were worth no more than scrap. I've certainly seen a lot better than this in scrap yards over the years. Going to hold on to mine a bit longer and use it to pay the mortgage off. Leslie green 81 Posted March 31, 2017 I suspect it needs quite a bit more than "just" a respray but it could be better than it looks !

Telf 222 2 Cars Posted April 10, 2017 oh and a weird gap between rear bumper and boot!
jackherer 543 Posted April 10, 2017 'Runway' tyres... Apparently it has an electric sunroof. "THIS VEHICLE HAS JUST ARRIVED AND IS UNDERGOING PREPARATION" Someone should ask them if that will include aligning the shut gaps front and rear.

steve@cornwall 100 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) Wrong inlet, badly routed engine loom, bonnet release cable and expansion pipe. Fse valve and if I'm not mistaken a mix of pH 1.5 and 2 front wings (count the wing top bolts); so likely engine transplant, respray and poor frontal repair. So that's what mine would look like with a good valet and a coat of paint! My boot/bumper gap is exactly the same as that following a towing FUBAR. Anthony 1,000 Posted April 11, 2017 I can't help but question why on earth AMS thought posting those "pre-preparation" photos was a good idea? Whilst I'm sure that it'll sell easily enough anyway given the current market for standard low mileage examples, you'd think that given most of those issues are comparatively easily and cheaply remedied (or vastly improved), you'd at least sort the obvious bits before risking putting off would-be buyers with the pictures showing it as. Rear beam looks goosed too - note the camber on the OSR wheel. The MOT history makes for interesting reading - the mileage tallies up, but it really doesn't strike me as a loved, cared for example with loads of failures registered over the years. Nothing serious failure wise admittedly, but still, hardly supporting evidence for a "best available" claim.
Telf 222 2 Cars Posted April 11, 2017 It's beyond me the prices at the moment. I paid £1600 5 years ago for mine. It was high mileage at 217k but pulled like a train and was in pretty good condition. I probably paid over the odds-I dunno. Fast forward to now it has 254k on the clock. It's stripped and under going a fairly extensive tidy up- but not a restoration as then it loses its credibility in my opinion. So it's a little knocked about and not perfect but very tidy. I wouldn't value it at anything more than £4000 to £5000. I just don't get how anybody would pay 8 or 9 grand for a standard car.
jackherer 543 Posted April 11, 2017 I didn't consider the beam but now you mention it the offside negative camber is massive and actually the nearside almost looks positive in more than one pic. And if that lot isn't enough the front number plate is too high
