mmcgtk 2 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) My dashboard (Centre part that covers the clocks and sits on top of the dash) vibrates like made due to all (yes all) of the clips being broken. Now before I get the tiger seal out, what products are out there that will help reduce vibration. Eg. double sided foam or something. I would usually tiger seal the dash down, but someday I might want to remove it .. Edited August 20, 2016 by mmcgtk
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted August 20, 2016 3M double sided panel tape/foam? (Assuming you're planning on going to hide it)
steve@cornwall 100 Posted August 21, 2016 I have adhesive draught proofing strip around the edges, including the instrument cluster. A cable tie through the right hand screw hole secured around the choke blank aperture and rounded off nicely by popping out the coin tray and wanging in a couple of self tappers before replacing coin tray to hide them. It's all easily removed and not further damaged should I find a good cowl at a later date.

steve@cornwall 100 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) Any pictures?Nothing to see, that's the beauty of it. Draught proofing sits like a gasket and can be pushed back in so it doesn't show once the screws / cable ties do their job. There may be a pic of the cable ties visible in my album "red gti" from link in my Sig below Actually there isn't.......it's obscured by CD changer control! But you can see a bit of gasket that needs pushing back...lol Edited August 21, 2016 by steve@cornwall
camgti 56 Posted August 27, 2016 Its probably easier to acquire a better one from another car. If all the clips and screws are there it ahould be fine. Sealing it up will make it hard to fix anything behind it.
