Jenvey Airbox To Lower Noise

Recommended Posts

Just wondering does anyone run a airbox with throttle bodies. Hearing my car on track (someone else driving) I think it's pretty clear I'm going to struggle anywhere with a drive by limit - the noise of it on full chat from the front is ridiculous. As much as I love it I just know if I go anywhere with a reasonably tight limit I'll have no chance,

So looking into options and the obvious choice is a airbox.

Question is do they make a huge difference?

Do they have a negative/positive effect on power?

Also I see some can encorporate a sausage filter in the box and some will run to a cone filter on the end of the intake tubing? Again which is the way to go?

My 205 used to have a Reverie airbox that silenced it to the level of a standard inlet manifold so they certainly make a difference.

Is the drivebye limit test taken at wide open throttle?
