Brake Bleeding

Can anyone recommend tools for one man brake bleeding? I've only ever done it two man but will need to do it one man early next year. Any recommendations (good or bad) on what to use?

ive never had any problems with the gunsons ezzi bleed kit.

 

uses the air out of you tyre to force the fluid thru.

 

can pick them up fairly cheeply from halfrauds and the like

I've got Gunsons eezi-bleed - Well recommended.

Yeh, Ezzi pressure bleed works well.

 

Makes fitting a new master cylinder a doddle.

 

I tried the one way valve thing, but it was not as good as the good old bit of pipe in an old jar trick.

I have a gunson ezi-bleed & also a one way valve & use them both together sometimes, you need to use slightly more pressure than Gunson recommened to get a decent flow of fluid out of the bleed nipple but beware, I've had the cap blow off the reservoir a couple of times (one just after I'd changed the cambelt but not fitted the cover so I had to change it again )

 

The one way valves only work usefully when there is fluid through the entire length of the hose.

I thought that the Gunsons thing was a load of rubbish, Ended up buying a one way valved pipe, But the other night I saw a vacuum type pump on Discovery Home leisure programme on building a trike, Not sure on the operation but might be worth a look

Yeah I got pissed of with the gunsons thing, kept blowing the cap off and wasting s*it loads of brake fluid and its not cheap!!!

 

Just used the two man method in the end.

I am changing my M/C early next year for the 406 one as i have 306 gti set up .

 

Upon this note what is the bleeding order of a 205 1.9 gti

Found this too, let some air out of the tyre - BTW I used the spare.

As with any car start with the furthest brake from the MC and work your way closer.

 

Or get the family involved and do them all at once
