Is This Normal?

I had a rare day in the workshop today, so when I had done things high on the wife's priority list, I started making some headway on removing the rear bumper, valence and beam from my gti. I took the carpet out the boot and found a cross in paint on the boot floor. Looks original, like it was done in the factory. Is this something others have seen?

Again, not something that I recognise from that description on any of the examples I've owned over the years.

Looks like someone was spraying the boot floor and ran out of paint! Definitely not normal.

Looks like they painted round the edges and then just went "uch, f it. That'll do" and done a big cross. Got to love Peugeot QC.

Or they were emptying the gun at the end of the day?

If it all looks original then I'd guess it's nothing to worry about and a Friday afternoon car, or a post lunch/bottle for red car, actually knowing the French it could be any time they've had a few!
