Rare Gear Knob Top

It's this a myth? I be herd there's a knob top that's quite rare and sought after? Any ideas which one?

the green ones are pretty rare.

All the 1.9 ones with the glassy smooth top have been reproduced, including the green ones for £10 each. So none of them are going to be particularly sought after.

The recessed ones like that are from a 1.6 and as far as I know have never been worth much as everyone seems to want the smooth 1.9 ones. I have a few of the recessed ones kicking around.

I don't think they're that rare, after all every 1.6 GTI came with one.

Must have been another one then I seem to remember something in an old thread.

Something with the position to the reverse gear, I might be wrong then.

There no longer rare at all.

I've searched the forums to no avail no so I'm guessing now i might be wrong

The knobs themselves, as opposed to the insert, seem to command a fairly high price?

 

I swapped a smooth one for a recessed one not so long ago... Because of the reverse gear positioning, depending on the gearbox type.

 

I prefer the 1.6 type even though I have a 1.9...
