1.6 And 1.9 Afm

I'm just looking to know what the difference is with afm's? I've only realised after my 1.9 Gti has started misbehaving that I've been driving round for the last 5 years+ with an afm from a 1.6!!

This car has been through all it's mots and passed the emissions test!

Can anyone shed some light?

I'm not convinced that the curves are too different between a 1.6 and 1.9 AFM and they will typically run reasonably well with the wrong one fitted, but as Mei correctly points out, you really should use the correct one so as to give the best chance of having the fuelling correct.

I say "best chance" seeing as after 20+ years most of the AFM's are nowhere near their original calibration anyway... and that's assuming that someone hasn't had it apart at some point to adjust the spring as a crude way to get it through MOT emissions or whatever.
