Courtesy Light Mostly Not Working

It works 100% of time when doors are opened but only very occasionally when pressed from inside, when it does its probably about 10 seconds after pressing it.

I had a problem like this, if i tapped the light it would flicker on and off. If you remove the light unit you will see the metal roller contact, I cleaned this and the contacts it touches,also I bent the contacts in slightly so it made a better contact on the roller,it's been fine since.

Yep exactly the same problem, tap it and it goes on.
