1.9 D6B Pistons

Hi all

have removed head due to pinking issue... I have just noticed the the pistons are fitted with the arrows facing towards the flywheel... Haynes manual states the piston crown arrows should be facing the camshaft pulley..ie the opposite direction.... which is correct way arrows should be pointing ?

 

As it is the flat sections on head chamber ( when head is fitted) are opposite flat surface of piston crowns ... not above them

Haynes is correct.

Thanks Welshpug.... Tiz a wonder engine ran at it was... even had it on rollers recently trying to re-map out the pinking !.... Also I noted that the inlet valves were 'touching' the rim of piston crowns !
