Early 1.0 Engines

Recommended Posts

Afternoon Guys

Some of the early 205s had the small 1.0 engine which I think may have been mated to the gearbox as an all in one unit.

Anyways, these early engines had no top mount on the left hand side of the engine. So if you wanted to upgrade the engine, how would you go about getting the top mount on?

Looks as though a whole new side panel would need to be welded on

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

Cheers Tom

It looks like a side panel and mount section are missing from early ones. I guess anything is possible, just seeing if anyone had done it

I had this issue in an old phase 1 XS, it had the XY8 engine on twin Weber's, the mount it much lower. The only way too do it properly is to find a doner car and remove the mount, not sure how easy that will be though.
