Clarion Pu-9469A Speaker Wiring

Recommended Posts

mrfirepro

Been searching for a few hours now but come up blank.

Have finally got around to refurbishing and installing the clarion in my build, however the plug has been cut off, I have an ISO to Pug converter so have cut the ISO end off and will solder the Pug male connector directly into the clarion wiring.

However the clarion has 6 speaker wires as follows

Grey/red stripe

White/red stripe

White

White/Green stripe

Grey/Green stripe

Grey

Have assumed there must be a common - or + to the front and rears or is it to the left and rights.....

Have popped all speakers to make sure of the phasing (from the ISO connector)

Anyone offer any suggestions..

I did find a photo posted on here but it seemed to show a common connected to a - and +....

I didn't think the above post was very clear.

If someone has or can take a picture of the plug on the back of the unit it would be most helpful so I can just wire my unit the same.

the other cables are

black

yellow

blue

red

Blue/white stripe

thanks

Mine's not in the car at the moment so hopefully these will have you covered. I've got a few more photos so just shout if you need more.

Thanks Will,

There a big help.

Only other cable I have from the Clarion is a yellow which I think is illumination and not used...

No problem. Where did you find the cable with a male Peugeot end on it? I may need one for something else.

Paul, I have just done all this myself - putting in a brand new 9469A. I have all the wiring info at home. I can post later this evening for you.

Paul -

this worked for me on my PU-9469A. Only wrinkle for me was on the Blue and White/Blue. On my first PU-9469A they were joined together in a choc block by a previous owner of the stereo and both were connected to the Switched 12v on the loom (29B). When I replicated this when with my brand new PU9469A I found it didnn't respond correctly and I think I ended up just leaving one (it may have been the white/blue) cable open - not connected to anything on the car loom. I found when i tried both that the radio seemed to not switch off into standby properly. Odd, but I got it to work correctly.

Good luck!

black - Earth

yellow - (I didn't have a yellow wire)

blue - Switched 12V to 29B on Loom

red - Constant 12V Battery 10C on Loom

Blue/white stripe - I left this open I think, or it could have been the blue - I think it is intended to feed an electric aerial (if you struggle with this join together with Blue from Switched 12V) see discussion at the top.

Ashley/Will - Thats great info, thanks.

Will - I bought a simple PUG to ISO adapter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-106-1991-TO-1996-CD-STEREO-ISO-WIRING-LOOM-HARNESS-LEAD-PLUG-PC2-06-4-/360803581571?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item540191be83 and cut the ISO end of so it could plug straight into the OE loom.

However I have discovered that my connections on the loom are all a little loose and some minor corrosion so I have ordered replacement parts for Pug. On another thread WelshPug posted the part numbers (Thanks WP) for the loom connector which are (assuming I've interpreted them right :D)

6542 65 ELEC CLIP-HOLDR13 VOIES RED 20 (x1)

6542 66 HARNESS CLIPA=3 B=0,35 A 1MM2

6542 67 HARNESS CLIPA=3 B=1 A 3MM2

They will be with me tomorrow so will know if I got it right

Yup those are the parts. You are doing exactly what I did, reinstating the original loom on the car.

Ok thanks. I'm actually after the plug attached to the car end of the loom, rather than to the stereo. Did you order one of those? If so a confirmation of part number would be great! Struggling to find anything on Servicebox.

Will,

As Ashley has confirmed they are the parts you will need, if you're not replacing the connectors just order the first item. I was expecting them today but as yet still nothing
