Standard Seat Belts And Buckets

Recommended Posts

Gavin Waddell

I have got buckets fitted in my car with harnesses and have refitted standard seatbelts( for when found short journeys) . I was wondering if the norm was to run the bottom of the seatbel through the lap belt hole and the fix it . If it makes sense. That way when you buckle up it does run over the top of the bucket seat.

To do that in a way that is even remotely safe you'd need to have it going through the lap belt slots on both sides, i.e. you would have to feed the belt clip through the left slot every time you get in and out. Even then it is not likely to sit on your shoulder properly depending on the design of your seats.

IMO you can have either buckets and harnesses or normal seats and seatbelts.
