Anthony 1,000 Posted August 13, 2014 Given that you were talking about possibly upgrading to throttle bodies in the future in the other thread, I'd suggest paying extra now for an ECU that does both fuel and ignition so that you're already set rather than needing to replace the ECU as well. The ignition only ECU's often aren't a huge amount cheaper either from what I've seen. DTA S40 is a good proven choice that's quite reasonably priced, but you'd do well to speak to whoever you're planning to get to map the car to see what systems they prefer/support. sy84 2 Posted August 13, 2014 I have been reading up and from what I have seen swapping the carbs for boddies won't make great difference power wise,it's a week end toy so I'm not fussed about fuel ect I'm thinking, carbs with proper management would be a good route as I love the sound of carbs, will look into dta tho thanks, not sure who wlill be mapping yet I live on the Isle of Wight so yet to look into a good company closed to me to map
welshpug 1,622 Posted August 13, 2014 bodies sound no worse, better if anything. its hard to say specifically, but even comparing a jenvey inlet against a Satchell one showed 12 bhp iirc, and similar torque, most carb setups use a manifold like a jenvey. sy84 2 Posted August 13, 2014 Realy I have never been in a car with boddies to be honest, I have a jenvey manifold lined up
