Radiator Cap On The Radiator Itself

Recommended Posts

2-Pugs

Hi all

I bought a new radiator for my car the other day. It is the type suitable for air-con cars of course so it is thinner or shallower than the standard GTI radiator (I think). Anyway looking at it once it had turned up, it has a threaded neck which appears to be a fill point, and should have a cap to go on it.

This I assume is for when the radiator is fitted into a model of 205 other than a GTI.

Trouble is I dont have a cap to go on it, my old radiator doesnt have that feature, and I have no idea what to look for or what to buy in order to blank it off.

Can anyone offer any advice or pointers?

TIA
Rob

Am sure the genuine Pug air con rad I found had nothing like that on it.

Was last year and my memory is sketchy now,

It's not a genuine Peugeot one. I thought they were NLA now. It's a Nissens, I thought they were a fairly reputable brand in terms of radiators. I have seen this sort of thing before but never paid much attention to it tbh!

Can you advise availability and cost of a genuine one farmer? Although I'm hoping I'll be able to find said cap to put on this one .

Sorry should have been clearer,

Genuine are NLA.

I can't see why you couldn't find a cap for it

Got mine at work, the old one was the same fittings but I'll check and take some pics tomorrow, Maybe a base model cap may fit as they had similar holes

I used to have a genuine Pug aircon radiator, and it had that threaded part. Servicebox has two options for filling it - a blanking cap that's no longer available, and a water level switch that was fitted to some models.
