Clutch Ruining My Day.

Recommended Posts

jameswallace.

Today was the first day i heard my gti6 engine run! amazing! so happy!

it doesnt have tax insurance or mot so i just drove it backwards and forwards on the driveway just to check it was all feeling fine. which it was

until i pushed the clutch down and it stayed there...... i assumed the cable had snapped but it hadnt.....

it appears that the clutch lever has got itself jammed.

any ideas why?

my first thoughts were release bearing? but i had replaced this with the clutch? could i have been an idiot and put it on back to front?

my second thought was can the lever slip? how is it fixed to the clutch mechanism?

any ideas at alll would be much appreciated!!

thanks in advance James

Thia clutch as recomentded by welsh pug so i dont think thats the issue.

And yeah the pin is there. Iv decided its not the arm but instead the clutch being jammed!

What would cause that to happen though? Iv tried levering it back but no luck!

Just took off the gear box to find the clutch plate in pretty s*it condition. One of the teeth on the push plate has bent loads. The release bearing had managed to find its way behind the clutch fork and the clutch fork had pushed into the clutch plate and consiquently buggered it!

New clutch or bend the tooth back??

Slo

Its a spring so bin it and get a new clutch sounds like your release bearing has made its way inside the pressure plate and got trapped inside it
