Well which is it dont just plug it in because i said one of two plugs didnt matter lol you could do all manner of damage without id'ing it

I see what you mean about bodged wiring! :lol:

 

What was it connected to? It could be the ECU temp sensor or the SAD wiring I guess. The temp sensor is a blue plug and it can be connected either way, the SAD I think will work either way but I wouldn't swear to it.

It plugs in the white socket on the right. I've taken the air intake pipe off to the right of the air filter and its down the back there.

That's blue :unsure:

 

It'll be the coolant temperature sender for the ecu, and the plug should be blue also, however common for hem to be damaged.

It does look white but it was definitely blue once! As said it's the ECU temp sensor and it can be wired either way round, its resistance varies depending on temperature.

 

I have to say that wiring looks awful, if you don't replace a load of it you're going to have all sorts of ongoing problems.

Cars running pretty well at the moment but the wiring is on my to do list.

Were it not for the clutch cable bracket ('85 1.6) - fortunately a socket like that in the photo will just squeeze in....
