it was fairly rapid in the wet in practice, putting to shame a lot of other cars... but lacked the power in the dry to keep up.. was impressive though tbh and he was on it everytime I saw the car on track.. I was there working on a 4wd car.

yeh my boss was there and said it was quite damp.

do time attack cars run road tyres 1b or slicks?

1:09 isnt slow or fast until you know the specs, regulations and conditions I suppose.

it's Darren spooners car so it could well be his "300bhp" mi16 engine.

Clubfwd class uses 1b tyres.

1:07.8 but arguably perfect conditions.

Although to list my racing driver excuses.

well worn tyres

different, unbedded, pads than usual

lack of tea in the morning

high fuel load at start of session where I set my best time

oil at turn 1 after 7 laps or so

think thats about it :D

Car I was laptoping was struggling with grip big time and span a few times. Was aiming for 1minute but 1:05. Think he did a 1:03 last year first time there in torrentual rain, it just seemed very slippy.

yeh minimal water after a dry spell can cause trouble. I think from what I gather this was Spoox's first event with the car. Pretty good to set a competative time first time out in slippy conditions.

Yes it was flying. I went to say hi but they were busy on the car at the time and I know how annoying someone interupting can be so I left it.

Saw it in the flesh on Saturday, seemed quick to be fare.

The driver reckoned it was a std motor on t/bodies.....

I'm thinking not the way it seemed to come on cam and take off.

Looked like it had a few nice tweeks, would have been nice to see what kind of front suspension/arms etc he was running.

Coil over rear with just the A/R Bar holding it all together..........
