Mi16 Vs Xu9 Block Length

Hi Folks,

Friend of mine is having driveshaft length issues and we're narrowing on the conclusion that either the block is a different length to the original 8v or somehow beyond our measurements, the car is strangely bent! The engine couldn't be closer to the drivers side chassis rail yet the passengers side shaft is a good way down the cup where drivers side is right on the edge.

 

So is there a difference? 10 to 20mm or so?

Blocks are identical apart from some small holes needed for extra cam belt tensioners.

Probably an aftermarket driveshaft issue I'd imagine

or bent chassis leg.
