Mr Bob

Hello

1st off apologies its not a 205 but I hope you can find it just as interesting.

I have been lurking on her for many years and been inspired by some of the great projects I have read on here that I would share mine.

the car is a 1995 306 cabriolet:

as it was when i bought it in 2006

fast forwarding a few years:

th_DSC01115.jpg

th_DSC00778.jpg

Fabric interior swapped for tan leather

Hard top fitted

Hatchback side skirts

17inch Oz wheels painted white

406 coupe Brembo brakes with stainless steel braided lines

lowered 30mm on Pi springs

rear beam swapped to a 306 estate beam with 21mm torsion bars

Gti6 front and rear aint roll bars fitted

XU10J4 S16 engine fitted

Black fabric roof swapped for Green

Custom made twin exit exhaust

Gti6 6speed gearbox + steering rack

Gti6 exhuast manifold

Gti6 mirrior polished inlet manifold

phase 3 clear headlights

plus a load of minor things I have probably forgot

2011 i crashed it:

Thankfully it was only me and nothing else was damaged just my car

th_Photo0170.jpg

Cracked rear bumper

Bent rear beam

Very Slight body shell bend

Aux belt snapped and it got mangled up in the timing belt which also snapped

So i got the body jigged out

and had a new bumper smoothed off

And got the front smooth to match.

After that i just needed to fix the engine, i had a spare S16 head so i just swaped them over as there was no piston damage, replaced the timing belt and aux belt but not long after it sufferd from a spun bearing.

So removed the engine to change the bearings and while it was out i changed to a 88mm crank and some bike throttle bodies.

Not too long after that it then suffered from compression loss and it turned out to be the piston rings

Since then its basically sat in my driveway for 3 years as I bought a V6 406 coupe to get me about

but I do miss my 306 a lot so I have decided to give it another go, I have gave up on the S16 engine so I plan to change to the 8v turbo engine.

So I bought:

But I found water in cylinder 4

So the curse of the 306 strikes again, but I was lucky to find a complete XU10J2TE bottom end for £50!

So project back on, but having a 16V head from the scrap S16 engine I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use it on the turbo bottom end, so I then bought a TD04H turbo and polished the compressor housing:

Bought and fitted a front mount intercooler

and now its currently at Meercat Exhausts (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Meercat-exhausts/154459644594696) get an exhaust manifold, a down pipe and hard boost pipes made up:

Thats as far as we have got, hopefully more info as and when it happens
