Airfilteroptions For Gti6-Throttle

Recommended Posts

sub205

Hello,

currently i'm searching for a solution for the gti6 throttle in a 205 shell.

An open "mushroom"-type filter is no solution as i never get it street legal here in germany with my exhaust.

Are there any good closed-type filters that i can use?

Or possible a complete box from another car?

You can use an airbox from a 406 or 306. You will need to relocate the battery.

If you get an appropriate one they will be fine, most o.e airboxes flow well over that of the standard RFS engine, V6 406 used the same T/B and same filter panel as many diesel engined variants.

R3 Clio uses a V6 Laguna Airbox iirc, they run 250 bhp.

i think the box i own is from a 406 with the XU10J4R (132bhp). Have to check the diametres ...

does anyone remember the sizes of the standart 1.9 gti box outlets?

not offhand, but its the same box as the 405 T16 which is 220 bhp.

the t16 only has 200bhp.

And its sucking air, which, at least in my oppinion, needs less diameters.

Anyone got a picture of the t16-airbox?

Im sure it would be fine. Otherwise you could modify the box and add your own pipework into and out of the box. Even use a different filter if you like.

The airbox will flow plenty. Its does not matter if the engine is turbo. If the airbox was restrictive on the turbo, everyone would take it off and have 300hp. Thats not the case.

Dizzee stuff

not tryed it but I think a phase 1 VTS air box would fit down by the gearbox.
