Your best bet is to look through some of the many turbo conversion project threads. Its very possible to get an intercooler behind the standard bumper, but this usually means getting rid of the standard fan and cowling and moving the rad backwards. However this is just one approach and there are many ways to achieve the end result.

So yours is, 550mm x 140mm x 65mm, Overall length: 690mm. Do you think you could get one, size: 550mm x 225mm x 64mm Overall Length 710mm to fit no problem?

Yes quite easily, the width is more restricting than the height, @550mm combined with my "u" bends it only just fits between the chassis but its neat and not squashed against anything. There is quite a lot of room behind the grill for an intercooler so i dont see why a 225m height cooler wouldn't fit but you would have to be creative making a mount for it, my cooler mount is 7mm thick angle iron between the bumper bars to keep it nice and sturdy. If you cut out the original fan shroud like i've done and fitted the slimline fan you could keep the grill mounts too, which is nice ;)
