Xu10J4Rs Hydraulic Lifters

Recommended Posts

sale_gti6

I need advice. Several hydraulic lifters knocks on my Gti 6 engine and I'm plan to replace them. Also, I have hydraulic lifters from my previous Xu10j4 S16 engine, and I was wondering if S16 hydraulic lifters fits on Gti 6??? If they fits, I do not have to buy new lifters...

Yes, identical bore but slightly different length. I would use the S16 lifters (reco'd) if I had no RS lifters.

I check timing and it's OK. When engine is cold, nothing knocks. Suspect hidraulic lifter...

Any idea if the j4r and j4rs lifters are the same or if the J4 lifters will fit a J4r?

Also are the xu7 lifters/followers/buckets the same?

ive looked at some eBay listings and it shows pretty much all XU 16v buckets and lifters are the same?

they're all the same o.d, I think there are differing part numbers but they look to be identical, Peter said they would fit above.

its the EW engines that went smaller o.d to make the valve train lighter.

Please do and report back. R and RS lifters are definitely different part numbers but I can't see how the relationship between valve tip and base circle diameter is any different.
