anywhere online I can buy bearings, piston rings and all the gaskets to rebuild the bottom end on a 1.6

 

done a search but everything seems to relate to 1.9 or 16v

I never found anywhere decent, so I just went to a local engine remanufacturers who blew the prices that my motorfactor quoted away.

 

other than the big ends they're the same as a 1.9 or a 16v anyway, inc the gasket.

 

 

 

best bet I found was to take all the parts to the local specialists and get them to check over and supply as necessary, let them use their knowledge and experience to sort it out.

thanks, looks like that will be the best option, unfortunately its a 5 hour round trip to the nearest place that deals with things like that

 

ah well got a couple of heads that need skimmed, might as well get it all done in one go
