Short Short Shift

Hi all

The prior owner apperently liked short short shift gearleaver. The side to side movement is next to non existing. It is too short!

 

Is it the short side of the "L" shaped bracket that must be adjusted to give more sideways movement?

If it's too short then the L bracket must've been trimmed and welded to shorten the gear lever mechanism travel :

... or it might been some aftermarket quickshift fitted .

 

Dunno if you're referring to the "left<->right" gear leaver movement , or "forward<->back" ? .. cos shortening the L bracket mostly effects on "forward<->back" movement .

Sorry its the left right movement which is too short.

Thanks for the link. The short part af the L has been Cut as per the article in the link. I thought that cutting it there would give shorter back and forward movement. ?

Have the rods been adjusted correctly?

It's the fatter rod that pivots on the ball mounted on the sub frame that controls left to right, it may be that this has been made longer to shorten the throw.
