Does the 306 one not fit when put into a 205?

Mine has a bit of ally with two holes in :)

I run the full Rallye 306 setup, PAS but no air-con.

No issues.

I believe the problem was the belt length with the aircon removed. not everybody ran with the PAS. I have a S16 top mount and have a rose jointed adjustable brace to tighten the pulleys/belt tension.

If you're running with no PAS, the easiest thing to do is run a 6PK700 belt and use an eccentric tensioner on one of the unused M8 threaded holes to tension.

If you run PAS, then just run the so called "Rallye" setup (actually found on all later non-AC XU10's)

Any motorfactor should be able to supply one.

Tensioner will be used on various PSA cars and no doubt plenty of other manufacturers too - early style GTi-6 tensioner will be fine for the job and most people use the one that they've taken off the engine when replacing the cambelt if it still is in good condition. You'll need to order another mounting post for the tensioner unless you've a scrap engine to pinch one from - they're still available from Peugeot.

What about it?

Make sure the metal pipe work on the inner arch does not rub on the tensioner. Theres very little room

If they all match the 6pk 700, then they're all the same (its not a part number)

so they DONT bring up loads then

just go into a motorfactor, ask for a belt as close as you can get to those dimensions, it cannot be any simpler.

or even easier, just give your works parts man the standard 205 gti part number, it'll be a 4 rib belt but the close enough in length (698mm)

700 is the length, if they matched that, then they are the same length.
