I've just given you the link for the belt you need. You might as well use the 6 rib belt

You could get a collar machined up. Do advise using the "post" though. Prone to running pissed other wise

6pk means the number of ribs. IE 6. The 700 is the length in Mm of the belt. The gti6 bottom pulley has 6 ribs as does the alternator. The disrance from the bottom pulley up and around the alternator is soemwhere around 700mm. Fit the belt with a tensioner, laughing! I had a car once that did not require one. Bought the same belt for my car and was very slack needing the tensioner. Weird.

There probably is but using the search bar showed nothing. I was just after a simple answer, couple people helped me out and gave the simple answer.

What did you put in the search?

I put gti6 alternator belt and came up with loads! Also just put gti6 alternator belt 205 gti into google and it showed my pictures and answers.

Glad we sorted it in the end!

I havr read it few times, but when i go to guys which are selling me parts they show me 4 differnt tensiors for GTI6 engine, engine is in 205,and i do not have power steering, non AC and i do not know what to choose i know that it needs to be hub excentric, that is why i ask does any of you have part number.

It's a cambelt tensioner being used.

You won't find a suitable tensioner listed for a 306 auxiliary belt as they all had PAS which you don't have.

Cambelt tensioner new is 57.2 mm height and 30mm width (INA),my alternator belt tensior now is 60 mm height and 30 mm width, and belt is 6PK698.

If i put 57.2 mm tensioner i need to put 6PK700 belt?

The difference between a 6PK698 belt and a 6PK700 belt is only 2mm so the tensioner will take up any difference.

(6PK698 = 698mm and 6PK700 = 700mm)

Surely a smaller tensioner would need a smaller belt, not longer? Theres nearly 9mm diffetence to the circumference, which is quite a bit.

That means i need a D=60mm,W=30mm and to leave 6PK698?

I found SKF 13244,that is for Diesel engines but it can be used like alternator tensioner in 205gti6?
