Fuel Pump Relay Drawing Current

Recommended Posts

jesse390

Hello, i have a 1,9 on motronic and the fuel pump relay has a constant live while the ignition is turned off, if i plug in the relay it starts to draw current, enough to drain the battery over night. The car runs with the relay in ,so i have to take it out to save the battery.

My question is, should there be a constant live at the relay (next to drivers knee), or has the relay failed.

Many thanks, Max.

yes there should be a constant like TO the relay, but not from, so there shouldn't be any drain.

if removing the relay solves any draining and it is wired correctly I would replace the relay.
