Rev Limiter

Hi,

 

Just bought a 1.9 gti, it's been off the road for approx. 8 years. The problem is that the rev limiter doesn't cut in. I've tried the ecu as I've read that some people delimit them (tried 2 others I had) but it's doing it regardless.

 

Does anyone know of any other things that I could check for this?

What rev's have you taken it to? Should be just under 7000

It's revving round to 8000

I've read that they should be about 6500

6200 actually, peak power at 6000.

I'm like this with my gti6 I've never found the limiter. Took it to above 7000rpm maybe 7200rpm never felt a thing!

Gti6 is 7250 or 7450, peak at 6500.

That'll be why I've not hit it then! If it is 7450 why does it rev to 1000rpm beyond peak power? Seems pointless.
