Injection Wiring

Recommended Posts

Got intermiittent problem suspect its the wiring in the loom under the inlet manifold somewhere, had problems with engine running rough at tickover and not wanting to rev also intermittent misfire on no 2 cylinder. Pretty sure it's not the spark.

Think the ECU is not getting the signal from the AFM , any guidance as to which bit of the wiring/connector I should be looking at?

Also as a matter of interest in tracking it down, understand that ECU fires all the injectors simutaneously where does the wiring spilt into 1 wire per injector.

Any other guidance gratefully received. Thanks in advance

Injector wiring splits under the manifold, tbh, i would remove the whole loom, strip off the conduit and tape, replace what needs replacing then cover it up with fresh stuff.

Had the multimeter out and seems to be dodgy earth on no 2 injection. Got the inlet manifold off this AM and the injector earths and other earths are on one big shrink wrapped connector. May have got it wrong (have been looking at Haynes wiring diagram) but thought that the injectors had a positive voltage on them and the injectors were earthed by the ECU causing the injectors to fire.

Not so sure now about intermittent lack of revs, thought it was the wire from the AFM back to the ECU but wriggling of the wires does not suggest a break. Thinking about it only seems to happen when stinking hot so may be something else.

Thoughts anyone?

anyone any idea what effect a dodgy temperature sensor and/or wire would have on the above and would it cause it not to rev.

As I said seems to occur when stinking hot and have tried a different AFM but same problem occurred.

Anyone advise the part number of the temp sensor?
