Do The Flywheel Bolts Seal In The Oil?

Recommended Posts

vern

As title really just replaced the crank seal and wanted to test if it was holding, before putting the flywheel on. but having a bit of a fair haired moment, do I have to put the fly wheel bolts in to stop the oil coming out of the holes??

Thanks for reply, before it leaked as soon as oil was put in, only a small amount but enough! so hopefully will get a chance to check before I put all the gearbox etc. back together.

Remove the screws, clean them with a wire brush and seal them in with loctite blue or something similar.

Then you can be sure they seal correctly.

When you already have the gearbox out you can also exchange the sealant ring behind the flywheel.
