Thrust Washers Thicknesses And End Float?

Recommended Posts

B1ack_Mi16

Hi

Started putting my 405 2.2 T16 engine together the other day.

Put in the thrust washers yesterday (Glyco 4141AF STD, XU10J2TE) they are marked...

Anyway I couldn't feel much end float, cheked the dial gauge and was only able to move it forth-back 2 to 3 thousands of an inch, so about 0.06mm end float.

What shall I aim for, and where do I find a listing stating the thickness of my current thrust washers, and other thickness ones?

Not sure if the iron block is different to the XU9J4 which is 0.07-0.27mm end float.

Ah, so then maybe my end float is ok, if I say 3/1000 inch that's 0.076mm

Nominal dimension thrust washers : 1.83 / +0.05 +0

Repair dimensions :

1 - 1.93 / +0.05 +0

2 - 1.98 / +0.05 +0

3 - 2.03 / +0.05 +0

End float : between 0.07 and 0.27

(all values in mm.)

Ok, thanks.

I'm tempted to leave it then, even though it might be on the tight side, I'm sure it is at least 3/1000's now :)

Just need to start sourcing those damn M7 bolts for waterpump and sump, over the years they seem to have disapperared somehow...

at least they all seem to be still available, though rather expensive, but commonly used on other engines.
