Which Clutch Cable (With A Difference)

Recommended Posts

johnhenry

Afternoon all

After reading all the 'what clutch cable' threads on here, i havent found my answer yet.

My situation:

Had my BE1 gearbox rebuilt by Miles, and had the clutch arm changed over from a BE1 to a BE3 (so it didnt have that annoying pin thing that falls off)

And im buggered if i can find a cable that'll fit!

(EDIT im thinking this is more likely due to the motorfactors as ive just checked first lined toolbox site and the two ive used are not suggested for the 205 :/ )

My main question - which cable 'should' in theory fit?

Cheers

John

photocopy_zps8158c484.jpg

I have

FKC 1118 - 1570 - blue and black

FKC 1103 - 1560 - blue and grey

In real life - they are

FKC 1118 - 1440mm - But it just will not fit, im going to go and try again now - but yesterday, no luck.

FKC 1103 - 1560/70mm

think im just going to take them back and ask for a

FKC 1078? this would be a correct 1440mm BE3 cable for a gti?

do either of the two pictured fit your pedal?

FKC 1118 should be 1440 ish as its a BE3 cable.

Get a mate to push the pedal, you can see the lever arm moving.

Also, check the Haynes manual for the clutch adjustment details, there is a measurement for the height of the pedal.
