Xud7 N/a To Turbo - A Few Questions...

Recommended Posts

shorty_15-92

Am I right in thinking someone has done this before and made a thread about it? (Did have a look but couldn't find it).

I know I will have to swap (or modify) the manifolds.

Does the compression ratio need to be lowered - the XUD7 has a compression ratio of 23:1. According to Autodata the XUD7Turbo has a compression ratio of 22:1 (is this before or after boost?).

I'm presuming I can take the oil feed from the pressure sensor (with a T to add the sensor)?

With the water feed, where do I take it from? I know it's after the pump, but where is the best place to take it?

What is the highest psi of boost I could safely run?

It is not an o.e turbo - this one is water cooled.

Yes, I am planning on fitting an intercooler, I just haven't found one yet.
