Spax Coilovers

Recommended Posts

Got a set of spax coilovers off eBay cheap...but my question is, does anyone know if they are actually any good?

Other option is b4s with eibach springs.

It's for my track based car, so ride comfort etc isn't an issue.

Cheers!

Never tried them on a 205 but have experience with them on a e36 and they seemed up to the job.. Springs they're supplied with are a little soft though.

Surely it is rather late to ask now that you have bought them?

personally I wouldn't, they were some of the most horrible damper experiences I've had. only trumped by some knackered racelands on a Lupo.

go with the tried and tested, and good, B4/eibach with 5206 K6/TE rears, or the gravel ones.

I've got b4s with eibach springs sat in the boot of my Clio ready to fit. Only bought the spax as they were cheap and thought they may be better :/

Is the insert replaceable? You could look at getting a insert from Koni or Bilstien and use the coilover housing.

The likes of Spax and Gaz are budget brands. Don't expect amazing but their value reflects that.

Way better than eBay coil overs like raceland.

For a dedicated track car running track tyres you may find them a little soft. Gaz tend to run stiffer setups

I have gaz golds and hold them over any other brand I've experienced.

They're aren't bad or intrax but for the money (1500 vs 5000) they're excellent.

Gaz customer service is the best as well.
