Yes you can swap the cams and inlet manifold although it won't run very well on the original engine management.

Change your font it's very difficult to read .

Im in the process of changing the Inlet manifold and the exhaust manifold from the GTi6 J4RS to the J4R motor. Im using a different management so im not sure if you need other wiring.

There is a guide on here somewhere to help change it over. I think the Map sensor wiring may be a little short but thats about it. Everything else should fit

You can also have your cams reground by PeterT to give you a little extra power

Simple.

Step one - remove old engine & loom

Step two - replace new engine and loom.

You will need shorter bolts the hold the manifold on. About 8mm shorter. I bought some yesterday from my local bolt shop. You will also need to lengthen the map sensor wire to rear its new position on the bigger inlet. Otherwise it's pretty much the same. You need to gently bend the oil dipstick a little to fit between the runners on the manifold.

can't you change the whole top end including head? otherwise have the ports on the J4 head ground to match the RS manifolds.
