Yes 1.9 GTi ECU, But what we're really looking for is the engine number as the 1.9 injection system will not suit a 105 bhp engine really, yes it will run but not 100%

I've been scrubbing and cleaning like a mad man on the top left corner by the alternator bracket.

If it turns to be 1.6 engine running on 1.9 management , I'd be happy to swap with you parts ! I have a similar problem.. 1.6 management on 1.9 engine.

Cheers...

Ummm.

What diiferance would the other ECU make if this is a 105 engine?

As far as my non mechanical mind makes out the car runs fine apart from the high revs in cold cold weather.

Are ECU's just plug and play?

Part number?

I may one day get one and try. As long as there would be no harm in it.

Each engine has to have the correct components . 1.6 engine with the correct management etc.

ECU is plug and play , the fact that it runs , doesn't mean it runs as should. you said you have 359 , it's 1.9 for sure.

109 afm also 1.9

Check dizzy number and update .

I can't see a number on the distributor cap.

The engine does have yellow injectors so I'm sure it's a 1.9 at least.

the caps never have a number on them, its on the body of the distributor itself.

Does this mean I have to take the cap off?

A job for tomorrow then. ;)
