yes.

if it has spark and fuel it should run, therefore I would suggest you may not have one of these.

The one I had a few weeks ago wouldn't start when i went to collect it and that was because the green sensor plug had come off. Could be worth a look.

I have fuel...i checked this...i have spark iv checked it. I put the timing light on it and its bang on. The green sensor plug u speek of...where is this located and what does it plug into? I have a green male plug pluged into what I belive is a knock sensor wich is also green and thats under the inlet mani. But I have a green 2 pin and a brown single pin not connectd to any thing because I cant find what they connect to. Both male plugs.also their is a yelow female plug that comes from the back of the block. Its 2pin. Any more ideas would be great cos im out of em

Im also wondering should the grey plug for the tps have a constant live when ign is on? I dont have.

With ignition on, check you have 12v on pin 27 of the ECU and pin 47 is earth.

TPS pin 1 should have a voltage with ignition on.

daveiwonder I checked the ignition timing with timing lighf by putting cylinder 1 to tdc and marked the crank pully wit tipex to the belt cover as a refrence.

Also I have power and earth at the pins u mentioned but no power at tps plug.

The green sensor I was refering too is on the back of the thermostat housing above the Speedo sensor housing.

If you have fuel & spark and compression it should at least try to fire.

Have you got the firing order correct? (I know nothing of turbo engines)

Ya its a wasted spark system so even if it was wrong it would stil bak fire. But yes it is correct.

Does it fire off easy start? Could be stale fuel?

I have a very large intercooler fitted...and I did away with that little air pump thing. Would this affect it starting...not enough air maybe...

You say that you've got fuel.... do you actually have any fuel pressure? Could be that the FPR's failed for example and would explain why on paper you have fuel delivery, spark and the injectors are pulsing but without seemingly injecting any fuel.

yeah, i would rule out the ignition system by running briefly on easy start/carb cleaner, if it fires up then you can be pretty sure the issue is fuelling.

The blue plug goes on the blue sensor that is on the side of the thermostat housing, then the green sensor further back has a green plug. From what you are saying it is doing exactly what mine was and it was all caused by this plug not being connected.

If you changed your gearbox I'd say there's a very good chance you either removed it and forgot to plug it back in or have knocked it loose whilst doing the work.

Find the green plug that fits it and I'd bet it will start straight away
