Plugs Behind The Clocks

Recommended Posts

Moz_Goodwood

Hi I'm starting to put my car back together, I inherited it in bits so I'm a little lost on some things. One of which is putting the clocks and surround back in, but I seem to have alot of plugs and nowhere to fit them!

There is one that goes into the dials ~ circled in blue

Two for the front and rear fog lights ~ circled in red

That is all I have to plug into the clocks and their surround, so what are the green, grey, black, pink and yellow ones for?

If it makes any difference it's a phase 2 309 Goodwood GTi

Cheers,

Paul

Pink looks like the dimmer

Blue is tacho

Black, green, grey and yellow circled ones are for the instrument lights and gauges

Now that's what I thought, but there's only a couple of places they can be plugged into. Do I have the wrong clocks for the car?

Back of the clocks (only one socket which is the blue circled plug)

Back of the surround (these are the two lots of foglights the red circled plugs)

They only fit one slot anyway, I can't see anything wrong there, 5 slots 6 plugs, the brown plug with two wires is for the instrument lighting dimmer which is on the steering column covers.

The fog switches are colour coded and keyed so you can't get those wrong.

See the four connector strips along the top of the instrument panel - that's where the four larger connector plugs go for the gauges/lights....

Been there and was equally confused since someone else took it apart, they are staring you in the face when you realise.
