Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

Hope the pics work because I've not tried to add any before.

What I'm wanting to know is what this bit of poly hose which attaches to the blue nozzle for and also at the other end of the poly hose where do the 2 black hoses that go through the bulkhead go to?

Help appreciated

Cheers

Car is peugeot 205 with mi16 engine.

That hose has been added at a later point and isn't original.

The hose going through the bulkhead is for the vacuum part of the factory sunroof, with one pipe going to the sunroof itself and one to the vacuum reservoir box under the scuttle panel. The thick fabric covered pipe is the vacuum for the brake servo as you've probably guessed.

Thanks for replies.

This hose was added because the old hose had collapsed but the poly hose isn't a brilliant fit and I can hear air being sucked into the pipe.

The reason for asking is because I'm having problems with the car at idle and I'm looking for vacuum leaks. When I disconnect the poly hose from the blue nozzle the engine revs don't increase as if the vacuum leak has got any worse. I've also drove the car without it connected and it didn't make any difference at all.

Could this cause a problem with my idle rpm if there is the slightest leak?

Check your brake servo.

Also check under the scuttle to make sure the hose is connected in there.
