Recommended Posts

i am stripping out my cabriolet as i am cleaning underneath and upgrading to a gti6 engine, suspension brakes etc, just wondering where would be the best place for axle stands with no rear beam or front crossmember, not much weight in shell but not wanting to damage sills and jacking points are different, also front underfloor chassis legs are boxed in on ct

Use the sill jacking points by jacking under the front subframe & beam while you still have them on.

This is how I've always supported mine when removing a beam or subframe.

The rear jacking points have a suitable axle stand placement just inside the sill at the aft edge, if you look underneath you'll find a flat section you can put the stands under.
