First brown plug looks like the one for the evap solenoid iirc (not important), I think some of the crimp on female spades maybe for the dash, but you'd be best off getting the multimeter out and tracing them if you can't find any wire numbers..

Miles

Brown plug is the carbon canister valve, Blue and White are the coolant temp and high coolant temp (replace the 306 ones with the 205 ones as they give the original readings), Grey is the oil pressure sender, but you need to get one of these either a S16/XSi type or a adaptor as in my shop,

ECU power is right, the battery lead will go from the Batt to Starter then to the Alt, hard to tell in those pics, the cable normally for this runs behind the main engine loom thru the broken tie on the Alt, You will see a round hole in the metal plate on the engine for it

Have you given the shunt box a 12v feed?

Without this the fuse board will have no power, hence no dash lights

Black box bolted to the passenger side behind the head light, should be connected directly to the battery

Miles

The small earth goes to the body, via the battery tray your relying on a earth thru the paint

To be fair DCC, he's just looking for clarity. Probably to stop him from frying something!

And, there is not a comprehensive guide to the wiring on here as far as I can see?

There are many comprehensive guides to wiring all common types of engines!

None of which say connect 2 yellow wires to the positive of the battery terminal!

Im not trying to be funny or rude - but read the wiring diagrams, make sure you have your wire numbers

FYI you only need 2 ve+, an earth and fuel pump wires to make these engines run. gauges etc are all separate really.

It's runs!!!!!

Those yellow wires are earths I relise that thanks

The reason I was having all this trouble was there was not power going to the little black box on the grill

So thanks for the comments

All the wiring diagrams I have found tell you how to wire up the multi plugs and not what I was looking for
