Afm Opened Up...does It All Mean ?

Recommended Posts

Hi there.....I have a Bosch airflow meter which i took off my car and changed for another unit. It didn't seem to make that much difference to my problem (the usual dodgy tickover and hunting problems). I have took the top off (looks like its been done before and resealed) and saw lots of weird and wonderful things inside. I noticed that there is like a set of contacts which actually meet together, a spring mechanism that has a needle that seems to run across a pcb board and a dial/cog that looks fixed by a spring. Just wondering should contacts be touching and should the needle be scrapping across the pcb.

Slo

Looks perfectly normal to me, the sweeping brush contact is the fuel regulator, more air goes in the more the meter opens up and more fuel is injected
