5 Door Electric Windows. Front And Back?

Recommended Posts

johnnyboy666

I'm trying to look at sorting the inside of my Gt and think its time to sort out some lazy man windows.

couple of questions:

for the fronts, can I use a 3 door set up? ie does it fit in the doors?

for the rears, what can I use? I assume there might be another Peugeot model I could raid for parts? or maybe even another set of fronts would go in the back?

has anybody done this before? or did any come out the factory like this? (I doubt it somehow!)

thanks in advance

I don't no about electric rears. But there are definitely some 5 door auto models that have electric fronts. When I had a 5 door I was going to put electric fronts in using these ones but never got round to it.

Not sure 3 door ones will work.

Let us know how you get on!

I have put elec windows in the front of a 5 dr 205 before, long time ago but I also think 3rd ones won't fit. Remember that 5dr 309's share the same doors as 205's.

I've upgraded to genuine electric windows in my 5 door.

3 door regulators won't fit as the arms are different lengths, longer I think. I found it hard to find 5 door electric ones and ended up paying quite a bit for a new old stock ones. If you could find a way to shorten the 3 door ones to match 5 door geometry that could work?

I haven't seen stock rear electric ones, but my car was fitted aftermarket electrics in the front pre-upgrade. They had a remote motor that turned the winder with cables. It worked ok and should be able to adapt for the rear as long as you can find a place to mount the motor out of the way of everything.

If I can find the old cable-opp jobbys i'll post a picture.

The higher spec 5 door models had electric fronts, usually if it had a gti spec front bumper it had leccy windows

For the rears you can get a universal kit off eBay but takes a bit of butchering!
