farmer 327 1 Cars Posted October 16, 2012 i dummy tested on my corsa D seemed to do a trick.... Proof of the pudding will be in long term as i was having EGR and limp mode problems and poor MPG
grandos 16 Posted October 16, 2012 Probably had the same affect as if you had sprayed brake cleaner in there instead! Slight cleaning of your throttle at absolute best.
GLPoomobile 958 Posted October 17, 2012 I have absolutely no experience of 10k Boost, but it's interesting that this has ccropped up after something that happened to me the other day. My Alfa 166 was MOTd buy a garage that I trust. They are a highly recommended Alfa specialist, and a small family run place, so very down to earth, what you see is what you get kind of place. The owner told me it had failed the emissions first time around, so they used some injector cleaner. He couldn't remember which one, as they keep various types in the workshop. He said it was one of their more expensive ones, to which I asked "is it a specilist trade product rather than the stuff you see in Halfords" but he said it wasn't, and anyone could buy it. I went on to comment that I always thought of these things as "snake oil" but he said they do work quite often, hence why they keep them and use them. And in my case, it did work, and brought the emissions right down to normal levels for my car. I shall add, there was no additional charge for this, he did not attempt to sell any to me, nor did he make a big point about this. It was simply dropped in to conversation as a side point. So it's not like he was trying to feed me some old bulls*it for any reason. On the flipside, there's no noticeable difference to performance or economy (just done a near 900 mile round trip down the A1 to Hatfield and back).
welshpug 1,629 Posted October 17, 2012 I think I know the stuff GLP, it smells pretty much like pure ethanol!
Batfink 201 Posted October 17, 2012 Its basically a cleaner. I just buy cheap carb cleaner to clean up the inlet.
