Back Boxes

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.

I have a full stainless system on my car (Mongoose I think) but the I can't stand the sight of the back box. Its a twin rectangular tail-pipe(like something you'd see on a Vauxhall lol) and I'd prefer something like a 3" round - nice and neat.

Anyone know who makes stainless boxes for them nowadays? They seem a bit thin on the ground

If you want chav you should see the 4 or 5" pipe I've got hanging out the back of the new Mi :D I'll take a photo a bit later

Here's the backbox on the new one. Its actually a 4", a slash cut type:

It actually sounds quite nice, it just wasn't fitted very well and has started to melt the bumper :(

Ryan, your exhaust looks quite similar to the one on my current car except mine is oval rather than rectangular (LINK)

I'm thinking of cutting the pipes off and welding on 2 x 2.5 or 3 inch round ones (my brother is prety handy with a tig welder)

Yup! pretty much, i had to make the part across the rear beam as a stand-in when i got my first 4bie! Got a few bits now though, Higgy gave me half a stainless system too! :)

That's the kind I'd like. Though I have to say my standard exhaust is quite boomy on the motorway at 5000rpm.

Whenever I see people's numberplates, they always seem to ring a bell, as if I've seen the car before on ebay.

Mine was bought from eBay! ;)

And my exhaust used to rattle at the centre box so we adjusted the rubbers at the back box so they're extra tight and it's sorted the problem! Centre box rubber is so hard to replace! :P

Yep! That's mine. That car was Zowow's - he is a member here. He's now got a 205 - swapped with a local mate and I think it's being broken :( . Is quite alot wrong with it though.
